The Contemporary British Painting Prize

Here’s a film I made for the Menier Gallery of selected artists from the Contemporary British Painting Prize exhibition in discussion with art critic Matthew Collings.

Contemporary British Painting is an artist led group which explores and promotes current trends in British painting.

The exhibition is on view from the 7 – 16 February 2019

Menier Gallery, 51 Southwark Street, London SE1 1RU

  1. As a contemporary painter I don’t often see spaces where the act of painting can be discussed. Thanks for sharing, was lovely to hear the talks.

    Great to get this video.
Really interesting to hear artists and an interpreter of artworks attempting to translate visual objects into words. The interpreter reveals his interpretations; the artists talk about the process of handling materials. How different and complementary these two types of ‘discourse’ are!
